Otterton Twinning Association

AGM - 12th March 7.30om Otterton Village Hall - Twinning Association AGM

Otterton has been Twinned with the Norman Village of Vieux in France for 36 years. During this time many friendships have been made and still continue. There are two visits per year, we visit them once and they come to us once a year. We are a self-funding Association and pay for our travel to France. Once there, we are very well looked after by our French host families and join in various activities arranged for us. When the French come to us we entertain them which is costly, hence the need for fundraising events.

The Twinning helps foster friendship between local families here. It arranges numerous events in and around Otterton during the year.

If you are interested to join our organisation, please contact:

  • Ian Blackwell, Chairman 01395 446239 or E-mail

We welcome new members.

A fully paid subscription entitles Twinners -

  • To participate in group visits to France (subject to agreement to host at a future date)
  • To receive newsletters
  • To lowered entry costs to certain events during the year

The Association aims to provide:

  • The conditions for friendly and long term links between families.
  • Enjoyable, interesting and varied activities during visits
  • A programme of social events in the Otterton area each year
  • The means for local people to develop local personal contacts
  • A contribution to the life of Otterton Village.
  • Encouragement for the participation of all age groups.
  • Fund-raising activities to foster the aims of the Association.
  • A means to develop friendship and understanding between the people local to Otterton and the people of Vieux and district.

If you are interested in joining the Twinning or in participating in any of these activities please contact David Pankhurst 01395 568104
